Fowey River Lions were established in 1984. They are part of Lions Clubs International, an organisation with a proud history of accomplishment. At the core of this success are the dedicated club members who devote their time and attention to serving their communities.
Testimonial – Fowey River Lions’ Generous Donation
The Fowey River Academy would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Fowey River Lions for their incredibly generous donation of wood to build a bench for our polytunnel on the school farm. This thoughtful gift has made a world of difference for our students and staff, and once built will be the central element in the polytunnel, providing a comfortable and welcoming space to rest, reflect, and connect with nature.
The bench is not just a functional addition to our polytunnel; it’s a symbol of the Lions’ commitment to supporting our community and empowering our young people. It serves as a reminder that we are not alone in our efforts to create a sustainable and enriching learning environment.
We are deeply appreciative of the Fowey River Lions’ ongoing support, and we look forward to continuing our partnership in the years to come. Thank you for helping us create a brighter future for our students and our community.
The bench will be built in a horseshoe and we will be growing hops around and over the top. This is part of the fun and part of the practical. The fun will be creating a den, hidden by the hops and the practical will be the bench. Planning meetings and board events will all take place here and one day we hope to provide a place for the committee of the Lions. You will always be welcome.
