Friday (24th) am and pm Rich in Fowey School – working on setting up student mentoring. Evening Youth Club (19 young people!!! 3 adult leaders, 1 young leader). fire…. and ball games. The young people very much organised themselves, sitting and chatting and running their own games.
Saturday (25th) pm picnic lunch with youth club, walk to St Winnow for games and bible teaching with Fowey Youth Club, walk home. (10 young people 2 adult leaders and 1 dog). This was really successful the young people started to mix and played together they also all chose to listen to the bible time, where Ben taught on Psalm 108 and Fact, Faith, feelings. So we if we are feeling guilty which is a common feeling, look at the facts- God loves you and Jesus died for you so you don’t need to carry guilt anymore. Step out in faith to believe this. Finally your feelings will follow, whereas is you look at your feelings first its much harder to let go of the guilt.
Sun (26th) am tea and toast, (Ruth) and picking up and returning young people. Tried a more “physical craft time” where they had to hut for clues and work together they enjoyed this much more than the previous sitting down crafts. Rosie sang and played she had asked if she could sing a non christian song as long as it was appropriate. Talk focused on family history and how your family history may seam bad/ or good but Jesus can still use you in a big way. i.e. Ruth was a Moabitess who ended up being the great grandmother of King David and …..Jesus.
