Ever imagine what a perfect world would be like? No more pain, no more sadness, no more bad stuff. Just pure joy, peace, and hanging out with God forever? Well, guess what? The Bible gives us a glimpse of that amazing future! It’s called the new heaven and the new earth, and it’s our ultimate destination.
Let’s take a peek into Revelation 22
This last chapter of the Bible paints a picture of a stunning new creation. Here are some highlights:
- No More Sadness: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
- God’s Presence: “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.'” (Revelation 21:3)
- The River of Life: “Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city.” (Revelation 22:1-2)
- The Tree of Life: “On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.” (Revelation 22:2)
- God’s Glory: “There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 22:5)
