Midnights is the tenth studio album by Taylor Swift, released on October 21, 2022. Midnights is Taylor Swift’s follows her previous indie folk albums, Folklore and Evermore produced in 2020. Written by Taylor along with Jack Antonoff.
Inspired by Swift’s “sleepless nights”, Midnights explores topics of anxiety, insecurity, self-criticism, self-awareness, insomnia, and self-confidence. It experiments with chill-out, electropop, dream pop, and bedroom pop styles, resulting from an alternative approach to synth-pop using analog synthesisers, drum machine, subtle grooves, and hip hop/R&B rhythms.
“It makes a clock,” the singer shared, describing the back covers of four different editions of the LP. “It can help you tell time.”
“Alright, I’ve been wanting to show you this for a while,” Swift shared in a new Instagram video. “So we have four different covers for the Midnights album. And if you turn them over, there is obviously a back cover to each one of them, they’re each different.”
