These powerful words, often included in the Lord’s Prayer, encapsulate the essence of our faith and offer a profound reminder of God’s sovereignty and majesty.
The Kingdom
God’s reign is eternal and encompasses all creation. When we pray “Thy kingdom come,” we acknowledge that God’s will is ultimate and that we seek to align our lives with His purposes.
The Power
All power belongs to God. He is the source of all strength, authority, and might. We humbly submit to His power, trusting in His ability to overcome any obstacle and bring about His perfect will.
The Glory
All glory and honour belong to God. He is worthy of our praise, adoration, and worship. When we acknowledge His glory, we recognise our own insignificance and dependence on Him.
Now and Forever
God’s kingdom, power, and glory are not limited by time or space. They are eternal and unchanging. This gives us hope and assurance, knowing that our faith is rooted in something that will never fade away.
Amen
This word, meaning “so be it,” is a declaration of agreement and affirmation. When we say “Amen” after this phrase, we are expressing our unwavering belief in God’s sovereignty and our desire to live in accordance with His will.
This powerful doxology (a phrase of praise to God) is a reminder of the true source of all things good and perfect. It calls us to live lives of humility, submission, and praise, trusting in God’s eternal reign and finding our true purpose and fulfillment in Him.
May we always remember that the kingdom, the power, and the glory are God’s, now and forever. Amen.
