Finding your purpose

We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels— everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organises and holds it together, like a head does a body.

Colossians 1:16 MSG

The writer of this verse is covering every base when describing the creative power of Jesus the Son. For he describes that everything was made by him and by everything he means everything, the heavens, and the earth, all was created by him which is why we can find our purpose in him. When I build a house it will have some reference to me the builder and this is the same with Jesus, he created you with reference to him, he knows all about you, your needs and wants and desires and it is only him that they can be met.

Lord, I commit my failures
as well as my successes
into your hands,
and I bring for your healing
the people and the situations,
the wrongs and the hurts
of the past.
Give me courage, strength and generosity
to let go and move on,
leaving the past behind me,
and living the present to the full.
Lead me always to be positive
as I ‘entrust the past to your mercy,
the present to your love,
and the future to your providence. Amen
