All these pieces
Broken and scattered
In mercy gathered
Mended and whole
Empty handed
But not forsaken
I’ve been set free
I’ve been set free
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now I’m found
Was blind but now I see
Oh I can see you now
Oh I can see the love in Your eyes
Laying yourself down
Raising up the broken to life
You take our failure
You take our weakness
You set Your treasure
In jars of clay
So take this heart, Lord
I’ll be Your vessel
The world to see
Your life in me
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now I’m found
Was blind but now I see
Oh I can see you now
Oh I can see the love in Your eyes
Laying yourself down
Raising up the broken to life
After he took the wine, Jesus said, “It’s done . . . complete.” Bowing his head, he offered up his spirit.
John 19 v 30
Jesus loves you. He laid his life to rest on the Cross and was resurrected 3-days later. He did it for you and will keep his arms wide open waiting for you to come to him. It doesn’t matter whether you say, “I don’t believe in God.” God believes in you and has a purpose for you and your life. It is an exciting road following the only God who has ever said, “Don’t bother with my teachings, it is me you must look to.”
In every religion, the way to God, is by works by earning your way, it is what you do in this life, good deeds or bad that shape your future. It is man reaching up to God, in Christianity we have God reaching down to man.
Religion is said to be a system of beliefs or code of moral conduct that judges a person.
Christianity is not a religion based on that definition. I cannot earn my way to God’s heart, Jesus did that for me. I cannot do enough good works to satisfy God’s 10 commandments, Jesus did. This way of life is based on one person alone and not on anything I do. 35 years later despite all my puffed up knowledge it is still true, Jesus is my only path to heaven. Jesus does have a purpose for our lives, but it isn’t to live a perfect life (He did that for us as well), it is to take this message of love and demonstrate love.
Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorised and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28 v 18-20
Today, Jesus is welcoming you into his kingdom, ready to transform your life and give you a new life, new purpose, new direction and a huge big hug.
