Artificial Christmas trees were originally invented by a toilet brush company: The Addis Brush Company, known for its toilet brushes, created the first artificial Christmas trees in the 1930s using the same machinery they used to make their brushes.
Jingle Bells was originally a Thanksgiving song: Believe it or not, this iconic Christmas tune was written for Thanksgiving in 1857. It was called “One Horse Open Sleigh” and was meant for children to sing in Sunday school.
Christmas trees can be explosive: Dry Christmas trees can be a serious fire hazard. In fact, they can go up in flames so quickly that it’s almost explosive. There are many videos online demonstrating this (though please don’t try it at home!). Always keep your tree well-watered!
