Theological Meaning
- Breaking God’s Law: At its core, transgression refers to the act of violating or disobeying God’s commandments, His moral standards, and His revealed will. This can be through actions, thoughts, or attitudes that contradict God’s character and expectations for His people.
- Rebellion Against God: Transgression is not simply a mistake or error, but a wilful act of defiance against God’s authority and His design for human flourishing. It stems from a heart that seeks autonomy and independence from God, choosing to follow its own desires rather than aligning with God’s perfect will.

Relational Meaning
