53 After they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and anchored there.
Jesus and the disciples step off the boat, and people recognise Him. Word spreads like wildfire, and the sick are carried on mats to wherever Jesus goes. Miracles can happen in the most unexpected, everyday moments.
54 As they got out of the boat, people immediately recognized Jesus. 55 They ran through that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to wherever he was rumoured to be.
The people recognise Jesus, and they react immediately. There’s a buzz in the air as they bring the sick to Him. The power of recognition—knowing who Jesus is and reaching out to Him—is the first step to experiencing His healing touch.
56 And wherever he would go – into villages, towns, or countryside – they would place the sick in the marketplaces, and would ask him if they could just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.
