The adventure continues with some seriously amazing healing moments.
Verse 29-31: “As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew. Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus about her. So he went to her, took her hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began to wait on them.”
Jesus steps in, takes her hand, and the fever is gone. It’s a real-life instant healing, and she’s back on her feet, ready to serve. Jesus is not messing around. He is hear with a new message.
Verse 32-34: “That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. The whole town gathered at the door, and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.”
News travels fast, and soon the entire town is buzzing with excitement. People start lining up with their sick friends and family. Jesus is healing diseases and casting out demons left and right. It’s a scene of hope and restoration.
Jesus’ touch brings instant healing. It’s a reminder that He has the power to heal us physically and emotionally. And what is Jesus teaching us in all this? Jesus doesn’t turn away from sickness and suffering. He steps into the mess and brings healing. It shows us that compassion is more than just a feeling; it’s an action. And it is an invite for us to do the same.
