He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we’ve learned: that there’s one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out. This and this only has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth.
1 Timothy 2:5-6 MSG
Christmas is a few days away and we will get to open a present or two, enjoy a glass of wine and eat lots of food. I’ll open my stocking which will have a satsuma, some socks and chocolate. But this gets in the way of what Christmas is all about.
On Christmas day the only present we need to open is that Jesus died and was raised again and this is a gift of life to everyone. He wants all saved.
So how are we saved? By opening the box and enjoying Jesus’ gift of life to you. It works by simple faith and by a simple prayer.
Beneath the surface of your story
is an inescapable fact
You entered this world
as vulnerable as any one of us
in order to nail that vulnerability to the cross.
Our fears, our insecurities and our sins
all that can separate us from God
exchanged by your Grace for Love.
We cannot comprehend the reasoning
only marvel that Salvation comes to us
through a baby born in a stable,
who reaches out to a world in need.
If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins,
O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness;
Therefore you are feared.
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And in his word I put my hope. Amen
