Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
Isaiah 40:28
Everlasting seems like a long time… So think of it as quality. As Albert Einstein put it, “Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That’s relativity.”
Or as the Bible puts it 1000 years will seem like 1 day! I can’t wait to meet the everlasting God face to face. What will I do? What will he say?
To day is Easter, we will be stuffing our faces with chocolate. Take time out to ponder that without Jesus you wouldn’t be eating chocolate but more importantly without Jesus the chance to meet the everlasting God does not happen. It has no chance of happening because my sin closes the door. Jesus died and rose again, opening that door to me. My chance to be with the everlasting God and to sit and say hi to Jesus. My saviour.
Love poured out
on that cruel cross,
a blood offering
so we might go free.
(Pause)
Love poured out,
infusing this world
with rivers of grace
and hope of rebirth.
(Pause)
Love poured out,
and into these hearts,
who drink from a stream
that never runs dry
