A Brave Queen Saves Her People
Imagine a young Jewish girl named Esther, living in a faraway land ruled by a powerful king. She’s beautiful and kind, but she hides a secret – her Jewish faith. Esther’s story is full of suspense, bravery, and a celebration of good triumphing over evil.
A New Queen
Esther becomes queen after winning a beauty contest. She’s chosen by the king, who doesn’t know she’s Jewish. Esther’s cousin Mordecai, who raised her, warns her to keep her identity a secret.
A Wicked Plot
An evil adviser named Haman hates the Jewish people and convinces the king to sign a law ordering their destruction. Mordecai pleads with Esther to help, but she’s scared. Revealing she’s Jewish could put her own life in danger.
Esther’s Courage
After fasting and praying, Esther finds the courage to speak up. She invites the king and Haman to a banquet where she reveals her true identity and Haman’s wicked plan. The king is furious and orders Haman to be punished instead.
Victory and Celebration
The Jewish people are saved! They’re allowed to defend themselves, and they defeat their enemies. They celebrate this victory with a special holiday called Purim, which is still celebrated today.
